BabeView is a Multi-Source (N-to-1) Monitoring Hub developed natively in Flutter. The project focuses on engineering a high-reliability, ultra-low latency solution (WebRTC), essential for uninterrupted continuous baby monitoring across multiple cameras simultaneously.
Network Architecture & Systems Engineering
The core iterative challenge was discovering and aggregating heterogeneous streaming sources across local LAN or remote networks and synchronizing them into a single Parent Unit, requiring complex asynchronous state management.
- Streaming WebRTC P2P: Real-time bidirectional (Full-Duplex) HD audio and video transmission between devices using native socketing via
flutter_webrtc. - RTSP / ONVIF: Direct and resilient connectivity to local IP security cameras, supporting modern hardware decoders (H.264/H.265) via C/C++ bindings from
media_kit. - Dynamic Discovery (mDNS): Zero-config pairing of Baby Units operating on the same TCP/IP subnet using
nsd.
Clean Architecture & State Management
To orchestrate native socket lifecycles, reconnect unstable WebRTC sessions, and handle on-the-fly hardware I/O changes, the application strictly adheres to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Clean Architecture. All reactive state orchestration was delegated to Riverpod, guaranteeing strict memory safety on the Parent Unit without thermal throttling during multi-camera grid and carousel playback.
This project showcases broad systems engineering depth beyond typical CRUD APIs β involving low-level network protocols (UDP/TCP, RTSP/RTP), native streaming I/O, and concurrent multi-thread architecture.
Status: Solo product under the JHH Solutions banner β Validated for distributed, low-latency, high-fidelity monitoring.
